Ukulele Classes
Four strings, a very short wait before songs

What learning the ukulele here looks like
The ukulele is the friendliest instrument in the building. Soft nylon strings, four of them, and chords that often need only one or two fingers β which means songs in the first lesson and no sore fingertips. It is our most popular choice for younger children and for adults who want to play music without a long climb first.
What youβll learn

- C, F, Am and G7 and the songs they unlock
- Strumming patterns, from simple downstrokes to swung rhythms

Ukulele questions we get asked
Is ukulele just a toy version of a guitar?
No β it is its own instrument with its own repertoire and tuning. That said, everything you learn about rhythm, chords and song structure transfers directly if you move to guitar later, and many of our students do.
What size ukulele should a child start on?
Soprano for younger children, concert for older children and adults. Bring the student in and we will check the fit β it takes two minutes and saves a wasted purchase.
Is four years old really old enough?
For ukulele, often yes, in short focused lessons with a parent present. It is the one instrument here where very young beginners genuinely succeed, because the physical demands are so low.
