Piano Classes
The instrument that teaches you music itself

What learning the piano here looks like
Piano is where most musicians learn to read, hear and think about music, because everything is laid out in front of you. Our piano students work on real repertoire from the first month β not just exercises β while building the hand independence, sight-reading and ear that transfer to every other instrument.
What youβll learn
- Correct hand shape, posture and relaxed wrist technique
- Reading both treble and bass clef fluently
- Major and minor scales, arpeggios and chord voicings
- Pedalling, dynamics and phrasing that make a piece sing
- Playing by ear and harmonising a melody you already know
- Film, ghazal and pop pieces alongside classical repertoire
Hear the Piano
Real recorded samples, not synthesised tones. Play the phrase, or tap the individual notes.
Beginner to advanced, one clear path
Timings assume one class a week plus regular practice. Everyone moves at their own pace β these are typical, not targets.
Beginner
- Note names, finger numbers and confident five-finger playing
- First pieces with both hands together
- Simple major scales and primary chords
Intermediate
- Scales and arpeggios across two octaves, hands together
- Pedal control and independent dynamics between hands
- Sonatinas, film themes and lead-sheet playing
Advanced
- Full sonata movements, nocturnes and concert repertoire
- Advanced sight-reading and accompaniment for singers
- Recital and exam preparation

Piano questions we get asked
Do I need a piano at home before I start?
No β you can start on our studio instruments. But you will progress much faster with something to practise on, and a weighted 61-key or 88-key digital keyboard is enough for the first year. Ask us before buying and we will tell you what is worth the money.
Is keyboard the same as piano?
The notes are the same, so the reading and theory transfer completely. The touch is not β a weighted key teaches control that an unweighted keyboard cannot. We teach on both and will tell you honestly which one your goals need.
How long before I can play a song I recognise?
Most students play something recognisable within three to four weeks. A polished piece with both hands and pedal usually takes two to three months.
